Démon #11
In "Comment devenir un monstre (1ère partie)", the Challengers race toward Perdition, Pennsylvania, where a century-old curse stirs beneath the surface. As farmers and the enigmatic Dr. Monroe attack them, the team uncovers a dark history: a demon summoned decades ago, buried by the Monster of the Marshes, but its fungal remnant still spreads through the town. With June in danger and a blood-filtering device retrieved from behind the Iron Curtain, the stakes rise as the true nature of the infection begins to reveal itself. Written by Gerry Conway, with dynamic art by Michael Netzer and inks by Joe Rubinstein, this gripping chapter features a cover by Rich Buckler and Joe Rubinstein.
In the eerie heart of Pennsylvania, the Challengers race toward Perdition, a town haunted by a buried demon and a fungal curse that spreads through its people. With Prof dying and June marked as the next sacrifice, the team confronts hostile farmers, a mysterious doctor, and the lingering evil of M'Nagala—whose presence festers in the marshes and infects the living.
In the second part of "Comment devenir un monstre," the Challengers regroup as Clayburne brings Alec Holland to Pennsylvania, where he reverts to the Swamp Thing. Meanwhile, Rocky and Ace fly to England to perform a mystical incantation from an ancient text, summoning M'Nagala’s otherworldly kin while Monroe shares the star-born origins of the ancient entity with June and Red. As chaos unfolds on both fronts, the battle between humanity and the forces of the unknown reaches a breaking point.
In the ruins of Perdition, Prof lies gravely ill, his body overtaken by an alien fungus. When Deadman arrives on a mission from Rama Kushna, he heals Prof—only for the scientist to reveal a shocking truth: Alec Holland, the man who saved him, is the Swamp Monster, now possessed and free to unleash chaos. Deadman races to warn the Challengers that the Monster has been corrupted and has set loose the rogue Multi-Man, Duncan Pramble. After a desperate confrontation that frees the Monster and destroys Pramble’s hold, the Challengers welcome the Swamp Monster into their mountain sanctuary, offering him a new beginning.
In "Bandits à louer," Captain Comète storms the abandoned headquarters of the Secret Society of Super-Villains, only to find it eerily silent—its surveillance systems still running, hinting at a betrayal. Suspicion falls on the Trickster when Kid Flash tracks down one of his henchmen, leading to a clash that unexpectedly draws in the fleeing Society, now with their prize and a new hideout to be uncovered.
