Constantine: The Hellblazer #10

Cover artist Riley Rossmo conjures a genuinely unsettling hellscape for issue #10 of this 2016 series, with a trenchcoated Constantine stepping through a freestanding door into a world of gnarled dark trees, a pale ethereal figure seated at his feet, lurking creatures in the shadows, and an ominous horned silhouette looming on horseback against a burning orange sky. The image perfectly captures the series' blend of street-level occultism and something far more ancient and threatening closing in. With Doyle and Tynion IV scripting and Travel Foreman on interior art, "Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic" promises exactly the kind of darkly imaginative supernatural storytelling this title does so well.
