Two fierce storylines collide in this June 1976 Marvel offering: the cover — penciled by Gil Kane and inked by Vince Colletta — plunges us straight into the action, with a snarling Conan locked in a knife-to-knife death-duel against Amra, Lord of the Lions, caged beasts looming hungrily in the shadows behind them. Meanwhile, to the right, Belit faces a horde of green, goblin-like Dwellers in Darkness, her defiant stance promising she won't go down without a fight. Roy Thomas scripts and John Buscema illustrates the interior, making this a genuinely exciting package of Hyborian-Age savagery at its most visceral.
