Cover by Colin MacNeil sets a genuinely unsettling tone: a muscular, blue-haired warrior leaps through a gnarled, skull-strewn tree with battle-axe raised, while a massive, cloaked figure bristling with wicked green spikes looms in the foreground, its clawed hand outstretched. The story title "Death to the Devourer" promises exactly the kind of supernatural showdown that made Marvel's long-running Conan series a fixture of 1993 shelves. Roy Thomas and the creative team look to be delivering something dark and visceral with "A Feast of Souls.
