After fleeing Xuthal and the shadow god, Thog, Conan and Natala travel south in search of an oasis. After weathering a sandstorm, they are beset by Valerius and his caravan. The misunderstanding is resolved and both sides work together trying to find the oasis. As night falls, a beacon appears atop a tower lighting the way to the oasis.
