In "La tigresse de la côte noire," Conan listens as N’yaga recounts the legend of Belit, the fierce warrior and rightful heir to the throne of Asaglun. Raised in secret by the tribesman after her father’s murder at the hands of her uncle Nim-Karrak, Belit was said to be the daughter of Derketa, goddess of death—her strength and cunning forged in exile. Now a pirate queen, she sails the Black Coast not for plunder, but to amass the power needed to reclaim her birthright and face the man who stole her crown.

In "Le sanctuaire," the conquering king Hamand ventures into a long-forgotten tomb beneath Cybernia, seeking the crown of a dead druid king. There, he awakens an ancient spirit who returns to life and takes on the guise of Hamand’s own wizard, Abarac. As the false wizard manipulates the king, Hamand is led into a trap that seals him within the castle’s highest tower—forever.
