“The Twilight of the Grim Grey God!”

Conan Classic #3 brings Barry Windsor-Smith's cover artistry front and center, depicting a muscle-bound, sword-wielding Conan locked in desperate struggle against an enormous, wild-eyed stone giant whose massive hand and snarling maw dominate the right side of the image — while a woman trapped against the rocky background reaches out in alarm behind him. The blue-coiled serpent wrapped around the scene adds another layer of menace to an already chaotic confrontation. Inside, the 1994 reprint delivers Roy Thomas and Robert E. Howard's "The Twilight of the Grim Grey God!" with original art by Barry Smith and inks by Sal Buscema — a worthy showcase of Marvel's Hyborian Age storytelling at its most vivid.
