In Conan #4/1974, a storm of tension builds as Hank and Bobby (Ismannen) are ambushed by the Watchers, leading to a desperate sacrifice that lets Hank escape. The Angel returns to the U.S., pursued by Cyclops and Jean, while Ismannen is captured and imprisoned with Lorna and Alex—now known as Havok and clad in a protective suit designed by Trask. As the Watcher robots round up mutants worldwide and deliver them to Trask’s base, Judge Chalmers confronts Larry Trask, removing his neckband and revealing a shocking truth: the Watchers, now detecting Trask’s true nature, refuse to obey him. Written by Roy Thomas and illustrated with dynamic intensity by Neal Adams, with inks by Tom Palmer, the cover by Thord Lindblom captures the issue’s escalating dread.
