Written by Michael Fleisher and Henrik Hårdråde, with art by Gary Kwapisz and Ernie Chan, and a striking cover by Christopher Moeller, this 1997 Semic issue delivers a gripping tale of betrayal, inner struggle, and redemption.

Conan leder Ökenvargarna men drar på sig de andra zuagirhövdingarnas avundsjuka och vrede. De konspirerar och förmår Lejongudens prästinna att ge honom Lejongudens märke, vilket gör honom feg och oförmögen att hantera vapen. Conans närmaste man Akhmed Sud tar makten över Ökenvargarna och fördriver Conan. Cimmeriern blir tiggare och Järnlejonen, Lejonprästinnans hantlangare, dödar alla som befattar sig med honom. Conan får hjälp av Jepthah Ben Zuun med att övervinna sina mentala spärrar och Conan gör processen kort med både Järnlejonen och Akhmed Sud. Därefter lämnar han zuagirerna för gott.
