In the 31st century, Cosmic Boy, Lightning Lad, and Saturn Girl tunnel into the Batcave seeking proof that Krypton ever existed—only to be confronted by the new Justice League, a group of rejected Legion applicants who overpower them. When Superman learns the truth from his Legion allies, he’s drawn into a deeper mystery as Earth-Man, the League’s leader, reveals he’s imprisoned other Legionnaires and absorbed their powers. With the trail leading to an alien holding camp, Superman and his team set out to find Brainiac 5 before it’s too late.
In the 31st century, Earth-Man and the Justice League confront a shocking return: Superman has reappeared, leading a mysterious team that assaults an alien holding camp in search of Brainiac 5. When Dawnstar uncovers that Brainy has teleported back to Colu, the team frees Polar Boy and retreats to their underground base, sending rescued aliens to safety—only for Earth-Man, wielding Saturn Girl’s stolen powers, to pursue them. As Superman’s group is sealed in a shuttle bound for Colu, they fall into the clutches of Colu’s vast intelligence network, led by the very mind they seek.
In the 31st century, Brainiac 5 finds himself torn between loyalty to the United Planets and a secret mission to protect Earth, where an insider within the Justice League has been aiding a hidden Legionnaire. When Earth-Man uncovers Chameleon Girl’s deception, Brainy must choose between his duty and helping the captured Legionnaires escape—knowing that without him, the war will begin in just four hours.
In the 31st century, as Superman and the Legion of Super-Heroes return to Earth, they enlist the Legion of Substitute-Heroes to create a distraction—leading to an attack on Justice League headquarters with a commandeered space bus. While the chaos unfolds, Superman’s team slips inside, uncovering missing Legionnaires, a genuine crystal tablet declaring Superman human, and Sun Boy, whose device has altered the sun’s color. When Chameleon Girl appears, the team realizes too late it’s Earth-Man in disguise, driven by resentment over being rejected by the Legion. The confrontation escalates as Earth-Man, wielding the stolen powers of the entire Legion, overwhelms a powerless Superman—forcing the fight into the void of Earth’s orbit.
In the 31st century, Superman—stripped of his powers and plummeting toward Earth—finds his strength returning just in time to face Earth-Man, who’s hijacked the Legion’s abilities. With Chameleon Girl awakening Sun Boy and the Legion rallying to his side, the battle for Earth’s sun and the fate of an alien invasion unfolds. As the Legion prepares to send Superman home, he reflects on the moment he first felt like he belonged.
