Clive Barker's Nightbreed #6

Clive Barker's world of monsters gets a striking visual treatment in this sixth issue from BOOM! Studios, with cover art by Riley Rossmo that presents what appears to be a tarot or game-card layout — its centerpiece a horned, steel-skinned creature grinning with sharp golden teeth, surrounded by smaller vignettes of other monstrous figures rendered in an unsettling mix of watercolor and ink. The checkerboard surface beneath the card and the blood-red washes pooling across it give the whole image a queasy, otherworldly elegance that suits Barker's mythology perfectly. Inside, the creative team of Andreyko, Kowalski, and Javier continues expanding the dark and deeply strange corners of Midian in 2014.
