Young Magnus Lensherr and his mother are liberated from the Auschwitz concentration camp at the end of World War II. Magnus grows up to become a hard working family man but villagers burn down his apartment building with his young daughter inside. Magnus kills the crowd and Magneto is born. Magneto begins working with mutant freedom fighters and fathers another child. Magneto meets and joins Apocalypse. Unhappy as to Apocalypse's methods, Magneto defeats him, taking control of the mutant band. Magneto realizes that conflict with normal humans is inevitable and declares war on all humanity.
