The Challengers discover implanted chips in them, fried by the EMP of an explosion. They are now free to think but don't know who has controlled or that there was a previous group in this same situation: Morgan, Haley, Davis, and Ryan. Jessi Brydge bursts in to take the Challengers alive if possible, but the Challengers kill all attackers. They realize they were manipulated with drugs, mind-chips, etc. Zach implements a safeguard, planting a hypnotic block in each member so that if re-implanted, NOTHING will control them. The Challengers steal a plane to land on a destroyer with guns blazing.
