Cerebus #82
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis January 1986 issue from Aardvark-Vanaheim presents a wonderfully surreal cover by Dave Sim and Gerhard: a massive, lumpy green figure dominates a cosmic stone platform, its enormous bulk flanking a bearded human face nestled between its shoulders, while floating heads — a long-bearded wizard, a wild-haired elder, and a cheerful aardvark — drift against a star-strewn, ringed-planet backdrop. The story title "Talking Heads" feels perfectly apt given all those disembodied visages hovering in the void. Sim and Gerhard's collaboration brings a striking blend of the grotesque and the whimsical that makes Cerebus one of independent comics' most distinctive ongoing series.
