Cerebus #284

The cover of Cerebus #284 takes a wonderfully dry, self-aware approach, styled as a mock movie poster for "Chasing YHWH III" — complete with deadpan taglines ("Don't believe the hype … it's a sequel!") set against a photographic backdrop of ancient standing stones. Cerebus himself appears in the lower portion of the composition, magnifying glass in hand, peering closely at the rocks in a scene that's equal parts contemplative and absurdist. Cover art by Dave Sim and Ken Sim carries the Latter Days arc into its nineteenth chapter with the series' signature blend of theological ambition and self-deprecating wit.
