Cerebus #238
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThe seventh chapter of "Going Home" arrives with one of the more quietly striking covers in Cerebus's long run — a sweeping photograph-like landscape of freshly tilled earth, a treeline, and rolling hills stretching under an open sky, rendered by Gerhard with the same meticulous naturalism he brought to the series' backgrounds. There's not a character in sight, just the land itself, which gives the image a contemplative, almost meditative weight that feels entirely intentional for a story arc with "home" in its title. Dave Sim and Gerhard's collaboration was firing on all cylinders in 1999, and this issue is a fine example of the series doing something unexpected with even its cover real estate.
