Part of the sweeping "Mothers & Daughters" arc, this October 1994 issue finds Cerebus seated alone on an ornate golden throne amid the star-filled void of space, a vast reddish planet looming behind him — a striking image of solitude and cosmic scale. A small, scruffy cat perches on the arm of the throne beside him, offering an unexpectedly grounded presence against the grandeur of the scene. Dave Sim and Gerhard's cover work is characteristically meticulous, blending intimate character detail with breathtaking deep-space atmosphere.
