This issue of Cerebus: Mothers & Daughters presents a striking, collage-style cover by Dave Sim and Gerhard that layers tarot imagery — including cards labeled "The Magician" and "The Lady Pope" — alongside a pale, doll-like goddess figure and a portrait of Astoria, her expression contemplative and guarded. The juxtaposition of ancient feminine symbolism with the sharply rendered Astoria gives the cover a quietly unsettling, mythological weight that feels entirely intentional.
