Part of the long-running "Mothers & Daughters" arc, this May 1993 installment features a striking cover by Dave Sim and Gerhard: Cerebus's pale, heavy face fills the frame against a deep black void, his expression unreadable as his likeness reflects perfectly below him — a haunting mirror image that suggests introspection, duality, or something far more unsettling. The minimalist composition is quietly arresting, letting the aardvark's weary features do all the work.
