Part of the long-running "Mothers & Daughters" arc, this October 1992 installment opens the "Women" chapter with a cover that's equal parts funny and sweet. A massively built, blue-suited figure leans in for a kiss outside a stone building, clutching a bouquet of red roses behind his back while red hearts float in the air and a pair of bluebirds flutter nearby — romantic optimism rendered with real charm. Dave Sim and Gerhard bring their usual blend of detailed architectural draftsmanship and expressive character work to the image, making even a simple courtship moment feel layered and alive.
