Cerebus #107
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThe cover of this February 1988 Aardvark-Vanaheim issue is a striking, almost photorealistic rendering by Gerhard of a vast lunar surface, with a tiny shadowy figure — arms raised, silhouetted against the grey cratered terrain — dwarfed by the immensity surrounding it. The subtitle "Walking On the Moon" hovers in moody red lettering above this haunting image, setting a tone that feels equal parts surreal and quietly profound. Dave Sim and Gerhard were clearly pushing the visual boundaries of independent comics in 1988, and this issue looks like a compelling example of that ambition.
