Part two of four in this 1998 DC miniseries, and the cover by Brian Stelfreeze sets the mood beautifully — a casino tableau of dice, playing cards, poker chips, and a cocktail glass frames a sleek monochromatic image of Catwoman and Wildcat face-to-face in what looks like a charged, tension-filled encounter. The noir-tinged portrait of the two heroes nestled among the trappings of high-stakes gambling gives the whole thing a stylish, pulpy atmosphere that feels right at home with writers Chuck Dixon and Beau Smith at the helm. If the first issue had you hooked, this one promises the stakes are only getting higher.
