Captain Britain and MI13 #14
Dracula looms triumphant atop a mountain of fallen heroes — including figures bearing Union Jack imagery and what appears to be the MI13 roster — his glowing orange eyes and outstretched hand radiating cold menace across a blood-red cover by Mico Suayan. This fourth chapter of "Vampire State" makes the threat to Britain feel genuinely dire, with the Lord of Vampires rendered as an unstoppable force standing over the wreckage of those who dared oppose him. Cornell, Kirk, and Syaf bring serious craft to this supernatural espionage series, and this issue's cover alone sets a tone of dread that's hard to shake.

Dracula finally realizes that his victory over England has been too easy and, in fact, has all been a ruse courtesy of one of Plokta's Dream Corridors. The illusion has given MI13 enough time to put their own endgame into action. Spitfire is given the signal and Dracula learns that her submission has been completely faked. In fact, many of the vamps are not under his control. As Killpower evacuates the dissident vampires to earth, Faiza's father stays behind to fight. Still assured of victory, Dracula receives a message from Doom that a very valuable hostage has been placed aboard his ship.
