Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty #11

Few superhero face-offs look quite as intense as this one: Captain America plants his feet and raises his vibranium shield against a towering, flame-wreathed Human Torch, whose fiery musculature fills the right side of the cover in a genuinely striking display of raw elemental power. The cover banner promises an "all-out battle," and the body language of both figures — Cap coiled and determined, the Torch blazing and massive — makes that promise feel entirely credible. Cover pencils by Lee Weeks and inks by John Romita give the confrontation a clean, kinetic energy that suits the Sentinel of Liberty series well.
