A charming slice of 1950s teen comedy from Quality Comics, this February issue puts "America's Favorite Teen-Age Girl" front and center — literally — as Candy, decked out in a flowing red dress and heels, pedals a Schwinn bicycle with spirited indignation. Poor Ted Dawson tumbles along behind her, dazed and on all fours, while her speech bubble delivers the perfectly exasperated verdict: "Ted Dawson, the least you could do is avoid the bumps!" It's the kind of breezy, good-natured humor that made Candy a warm staple of the era, and at a dime a copy, issue #35 captures everything delightful about postwar teen comics in one energetic cover scene.
