Cable is caught in a brutal, no-holds-barred brawl on the cover of this 1999 Marvel issue, his cybernetic arm locked in a fierce clash against the massive, snarling figure bearing the ominous tagline "He Shall Be Called Pestilence!" — a hulking, gray-skinned brute draped in red sashes who looks every bit as dangerous as that proclamation suggests. Bernard Chang's pencils and Mark Morales's inks give the confrontation a raw, kinetic energy, with Cable's blue-and-gold uniform taking real punishment as the two figures collide against an industrial, machinery-filled backdrop. With Joe Pruett's "Mindgames" story inside and a creative team firing on all cylinders, this is a satisfying entry in Cable's late-'90s run.
