The final issue of this Image series wraps up in characteristically offbeat style, with Shaky Kane's cover art depicting two oddly nonchalant elderly figures — one tall and lean with a rifle slung over his shoulder and a Free Comic Book Day bag in hand, the other shorter and stout with a pistol and safari hat — standing over a disembodied hand clawing up from the ground. It's a wonderfully deadpan image that captures everything The Bulletproof Coffin does so well: mundane details colliding with the genuinely strange. Written by David Hine and Shaky Kane, with Kane handling the interior art in full, this sixth installment of "The Dotted Line" delivers a fittingly surreal send-off to one of 2010's most distinctive miniseries.
