This issue contains three comic stories by Geo. McManus featuring the character Father. In "Father Knows What The Hat Cost," Father goes golfing and gets struck by a golf ball, leading to a dispute over payment for a new hat that costs five beans and a trip to the hospital. "Yes, Father Is Going to the Pic-nic" shows Father attempting to sneak out to a picnic before his wife Maggie wakes up, only to discover she has locked away all his clothes. "Father Has A Substitute Working" depicts Father trying to take a nap while a substitute keeps watch, with a phonograph providing entertainment as Father falls asleep.
