Bob, the Galactic Bum #3

Part three of four in DC's irreverent 1995 miniseries, this issue drops the wandering cosmic vagrant Bob right into a wonderfully absurd standoff — squeezed between two enormous pink pigs while a green-jacketed, bird-masked alien brandishes a fork and knife with unsettling enthusiasm. Carlos Ezquerra's cover art is gleefully weird, with a looming dark figure lurking on the left adding just enough menace to balance the chaos. Alan Grant and John Wagner's offbeat universe is on full display here, promising the kind of gonzo galactic adventure that made this series a treat for fans who like their sci-fi with a generous side of the ridiculous.
