Bob, the Galactic Bum #2

Part two of this four-issue DC miniseries brings together a wonderfully odd trio on Carlos Ezquerra's cover: a snarling, wild-haired blue-skinned figure looms on the left, while a squat, wide-eyed little man with a skull emblem clutches the center, and a weathered fellow in a battered top hat crowds in from the right. Ezquerra's linework is characteristically bold and expressive, giving each face its own grotesque personality in a way that practically announces the off-kilter cosmic comedy within. Writers Alan Grant and John Wagner were clearly having a great time in 1995, and "The Piker, Chapter 2: Behold! The Pig-Man Cometh" is exactly the kind of title that makes you want to dive straight in.
