Bob, the Galactic Bum #4

The four-part cosmic comedy wraps up with issue #4 of Bob, the Galactic Bum, and Carlos Ezquerra's cover sets the tone perfectly — a sneering, red-eyed ghoulish figure chomping a cigar looms on the left while a scruffy, top-hatted fellow gawks from the right, both transfixed by an elegantly dressed blue-skinned woman in red who stands coolly between them. It's a wonderfully absurdist tableau that captures the series' offbeat humor, brought to life with Ezquerra's characteristically expressive linework. Writers Alan Grant and John Wagner close out their strange, sprawling space odyssey here, and if the cover is any indication, the finale is every bit as delightfully weird as what came before.
