Bloodstone #2

Issue two of this 2002 Marvel series keeps the monster-hunting momentum going with a cover by Michael Lopez that puts Elsa Bloodstone front and center — armed, braided, and wearing the telltale Bloodstone choker — flanked by a snarling werewolf-like creature below and a ghoulish, decayed face looming in a circle above. A smaller inset shows Elsa in action pose with pistol raised, hinting at the relentless pace Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning bring to "Mummy's Girl." It's a confident, energetic package that makes clear this series has no shortage of things that go bump in the night for its heroine to confront.
