Black Panther #2
In "For Duty, for Honor, for Country!", T'Challa faces a crisis of leadership as unrest in Azania ignites under the shadow of the Man-Cat's actions. With the Azanian government cracking down violently and a challenge to his rule testing his resolve, T'Challa must defend Wakanda—both from external threats and the weight of his own legacy—without the Panther's power. Written by Peter B. Gillis and brought to life by Denys B. Cowan’s dynamic art, this 1988 issue captures the tension and honor at the heart of Wakanda’s struggle. The cover, by Cowan and Sam de la Rosa, sets the tone with a striking image of the Black Panther in the midst of conflict.
