Black Panther #17
The King of Wakanda takes his skills to the streets in this 2000 "Urban Jungle Action" chapter, with the cover by Sal Velluto and Bob Almond depicting Black Panther front and center, claws blazing, as he confronts an enormous monstrous creature with rows of jagged teeth. Joining the fray is an impressive lineup of Marvel street-level talent — Iron Fist leaping into battle above, Luke Cage/Power Man ready to throw down on the left, and the Falcon swooping in alongside his companion Redwing at lower right. Writer Priest and the Velluto/Almond art team were consistently delivering some of Marvel's most dynamic superhero action at this point, and this jam-packed issue looks to be a prime example of why.
