Everett K. Ross
Everett K. Ross is a U.S. State Department official assigned as a liaison to foreign dignitaries operating on American soil. His involvement with T'Challa, the Black Panther, pulled the mild-mannered bureaucrat into the extraordinary world of Wakandan royalty and Marvel's street-level politics.
Everett K. Ross arrived in 1998 courtesy of writer Christopher Priest β one of Marvel's most celebrated modern architects β debuting in Ka-Zar #17 before finding his true home in the pages of Black Panther, where he'd become one of the series' most distinctive presences. A Modern Age creation through and through, Ross carved out a unique niche in the Marvel Universe over a remarkable 24-year publishing span, racking up appearances across Priest's landmark run and Reginald Hudlin's celebrated tenure alike. He keeps rarefied company throughout those pages β sharing adventures with Queen Divine Justice, Monica Lynne, Zuri, and others at the heart of Wakandan storytelling β and two of his appearances carry the weight of key-issue significance, a mark of real collector cachet. If you've ever wanted to trace the rich, sophisticated modern history of Black Panther's world from the inside, Ross is an essential thread running through it all.
