“The Rebirth of the Black Knight”

The Black Knight gallops into his own four-issue limited series with a cover by Rich Buckler and Tony DeZuniga that makes a bold statement: the armored, sword-raising Original Black Knight astride a charging blue horse dominates the composition, while the modern Ebon Avenger looks on from the lower left — the cover copy promising the elder knight rides again to save his 20th-century descendant. Roy Thomas and Dann Thomas bring their trademark historical sweep to the story, with Tony DeZuniga's art inside as well. For fans of Marvel's Arthurian corner, this 1990 opener is a fine place to saddle up.
