Mahnke's artwork frames a savage, moonlit clash between a battered Black Adam and Hawkman, the two combatants locked together in a fierce struggle over a mace, blood-spattered and snarling face-to-face against a full moon. The raw physicality on display here — wings spread wide, muscles straining — makes "Fight or Flight" one of the more gripping covers of DC's 2007 lineup.
