Tomasi's six-part miniseries finds a visibly battered, powerless Black Adam suspended in a storm of raw lightning — his torn civilian clothes and anguished expression suggesting a man desperately reaching for something just beyond his grasp. Doug Mahnke's cover work crackles with kinetic energy, the electric blue field surrounding Adam making the whole image feel like a thunderclap frozen in time.
