Bart Forde, a book collector, acquires a mysterious tome containing ancient magical formulas—only to have its obsessed former owner, Sarazin, move into his apartment building with two coffin-shaped boxes. When Forde discovers that Sarazin is using the book to animate mummies for a wave of supernatural crimes sweeping the city, he realizes he's the only one who knows the truth and must take action.
