“No Man's Land: Underground Railroad Part II”

Bill Sienkiewicz's painted cover for this "No Man's Land" chapter pulses with an almost dreamlike intensity — a masked, wide-eyed figure dominates the composition, surrounded by swirling energy and shadowy, fallen forms in the background. The ornate Victorian-style framing and the ghostly locomotive motif tie perfectly into the "Underground Railroad" subtitle, giving the whole image a haunting, mythic quality that sets this 1999 installment apart from a typical Bat-title.
