Batman #59

The arc subtitle says it all — "Dark Knight: Criminal!" — and Mikel Janín's cover delivers the tension behind those words in full: Batman surges upward, fist raised, surrounded and swarmed by a mass of armored G.C.P.D. officers pressing in from every side. It's a striking image that sets up "The Tyrant Wing, Part 2" as a story where the Dark Knight finds himself at odds with the very city he protects. Tom King and Janín, with colors by Jordie Bellaire, make this 2019 entry in their Batman run one that promises genuine friction between Gotham's guardian and its law enforcement.
