Batman #413

Batman #413 takes the Dark Knight into distinctly different territory for November 1987, with a cover penciled by Ed Hannigan and inked by Walt Simonson that plants a menacing, golden-armored samurai warrior front and center, katana drawn and gleaming. Looming behind him in the shadows is Batman's unmistakable cowled silhouette, watchful and patient against a backdrop of bamboo, cherry blossoms, and traditional Japanese architecture. With Jo Duffy writing and Kieron Dwyer on interior art, "The Ghost of Masahiko Tahara" promises a moody collision of Gotham's guardian and a world steeped in ancient honor and steel.
