From September 1987 comes this dynamic chapter of Batman: The New Adventures, with a cover by Ed Hannigan and Dick Giordano that crackles with tension. Batman lunges forward cape sweeping wide, while Robin engages a desperate gunman — a scarred, two-faced figure firing point-blank — and a massive reflective sphere looms in the background, casting ghostly distorted images of the struggle within it. Max Allan Collins scripts "Second Chance," brought to life by artist Dave Cockrum, inker Don Heck, and colorist Adrienne Roy, making this an appealing slice of late-'80s Dark Knight action.
