Batman stands defiant atop a golden idol as laser beams criss-cross around him, while two armed gunmen take aim from below — and his bold speech balloon ("Fire away, little men! NOTHING can kill the Batman!") captures the Dark Knight's fearless confidence perfectly. Dick Giordano's cover art for this January 1976 issue sets up the macabre mystery promised by the story title "The Corpse Came C.O.D.!" with a wonderfully pulpy, action-packed tableau. Inside, writer David V. Reed and artist Irv Novick bring the thrills to life in what looks to be a vintage mid-seventies Batman adventure at its entertaining best.
