Part of DC's New 52 relaunch, this February 2012 issue of Gail Simone's Batgirl features a striking cover by Adam Hughes showing Barbara Gordon mid-combat, driving a fierce punch into a masked opponent whose face shatters on impact — all fierce red hair and coiled power. The story is titled "An End to Dreams," promising the kind of personal, hard-edged storytelling that defined Simone's work on the series. With interior art by Ardian Syaf and inks by Vicente Cifuentes, it's a well-crafted chapter in Barbara's return to the cape and cowl.
