Drawing straight from the Hellboy universe, this 2009 Dark Horse finale wraps up the B.P.R.D.: 1947 miniseries on a suitably eerie note. Mike Mignola's cover — rendered in his inimitably shadowy style — places a pale, gaunt figure in the foreground, one hand raised toward the viewer, while behind him a dark silhouetted figure brandishes a glowing green sword amid a swirling mass of winged, bat-like demons. The atmosphere is brooding and otherworldly, with writers Mignola and Joshua Dysart joined by the artistic duo of Gabriel Bá and Fábio Moon to bring this postwar supernatural chapter to its close.
