Avengers Icons: The Vision #2

Part of Marvel's 2002 Icons spotlight series, this second chapter carries the evocative title "Eye of the Beholder" — and the cover by Brian Haberlin delivers an immediate, striking image: the Vision surging forward through what appears to be a darkened storefront, his synthezoid form semi-transparent and crackling with internal circuitry, solar gem blazing at his forehead and one yellow hand thrust outward. The eerie glow of his phasing body against the "CLOSED" sign in the background gives the whole composition a haunting, almost desperate energy. Geoff Johns and Ivan Reis bring their talents to bear on one of Marvel's most complex characters, making this a compelling read for any fan of the android Avenger.
