Avengers Icons: The Vision #1

Part of Marvel's 2002 Icons spotlight series, this first issue of a four-part Vision story — written by Geoff Johns with art by Ivan Reis and Joe Pimentel — opens with a striking cover by Brian Haberlin that says everything about what makes the Synthezoid so compelling. The image splits Vision's face between warm human-like flesh tones and exposed mechanical circuitry, a blazing solar gem at his forehead casting light across both halves, capturing the eternal tension between man and machine at his core.
