Avengers #8

Earth's Mightiest Heroes charge headlong into battle on this striking Alex Ross cover, which assembles Sam Wilson's Captain America (shield raised), Spider-Man, a bare-chested Hercules, Iron Man in a darkened suit, Thor, the Wasp, and the Vision into one surging, kinetic composition. The stormy atmosphere and sweeping capes give the whole image a sense of urgency that's hard to shake. With Mark Waid, Jeremy Whitley, and Phil Noto steering the series, issue #8 makes a strong case that this Avengers lineup has plenty of fight left in it.
