Avengers #3

Mike Del Mundo handles the interiors while Alex Ross delivers the cover — and what a cover it is. A cluster of Avengers, including Thor (hammer in hand), Captain America (shield at the ready), and several teammates, stand clustered on a precarious perch surrounded by a dizzying alien cityscape bathed in sickly green light, massive spacecraft looming overhead and an enormous eye watching from the shadows. Mark Waid's run on Earth's Mightiest Heroes is already shaping up as one to follow, and this third issue promises the team in very deep, very strange territory.
